Armstrong All Stainless Steel Thermostatic TAVB Air Vent with Vacuum Breaker
Thermostatic air vent is used to relieve the air during start-up in a steam chamber such as a steam jacketed kettle because air/gas can become an insulator in a steam heating system
For steam heating systems that uses a modulating control valve, the steam chamber can become a vacuum and temporarily prevent the steam trap from draining the condensate inside the steam chamber. This results in condensate/water flooding inside the steam chamber and thus creates water hammer and corrosion of the steam heating equipment & its accessories in the long run.
To solve the problem above, Armstrong has developed:
A combination of thermostatic air vent & vacuum breaker
