CSI Heat Tracing System for Pumps, Instruments & Valves
ControHeat® for valves
ControHeat® valve jackets are used in a variety of piping applications to prevent process condensation and freeze-up inside the valve and to melt-out the process following loss of utilities. Smaller valves (NPS < 3-in.) feature a uni-jacket design with only one major jacket section and one pressure chamber. Larger valves (NPS 4-24-in.) feature two symmetric jacket sections with a pressure chamber in each section. Much larger valves may require four or more jacket sections, depending upon the total jacket size. ControHeat® valve jackets may also be extended beyond the valve flanges to cover the adjacent piping flanges for a more thermally complete system.
ControHeat® for instrument
Most process instrumentation is sensitive to temperature; not only must the instrument or meter be kept at a constant temperature for successful operation, but temperature uniformity can also be critical to instrument performance. ControHeat® jackets are perfect for these applications, particularly since their unusual geometry can make heating via weld-on jacketing and tube tracing almost impossible.
ControHeat® for pump
Pumps often need to be heated. Cold process leads to higher viscosity, which can move a pump off its pump curve and contribute to premature pump motor burn-out. Pump heating is particularly critical before start-ups if there is residual process in the pump casing. For processes like sulfur, even small cold spots can cause the impeller to freeze to the pump wall. ControHeat® pump jackets are ideal for preventing these types of process issues.
