STEAM TRAP SURVEY
Inko offers steam trap survey:
- To reduce the waste steam leaking from the steam trap
- To help identify any steam trap that is plugged
Because this will create condensate flooded in the steam heating equipment
Condensate flooded in the steam heating equipment will drop its temperature to become sub-cooled condensate
Sub-cooled condensate will make the corrosion rate faster in the steam heating equipment
(if there are a lot of CO2 gas in it
Flooded condensate will create water hammering in the steam heating system
In the end it will create destruction to the heating system
- If a steam trap is blowing through the steam out of it
Beside wasting steam, the leaking steam out of the leaking steam trap will create
an increasing pressure at the condensate collection line
This pressurized condensate line in the end will block the other steam traps to open
Then the condensate will be flooding in all the steam heating equipment and create an in-sufficient heating
In steam boiler, it keeps burning the fuel to produce steam that is wated away.
The stages of a steam trap survey is as follows:
– Survey the area and put a temporary tagging on steam traps that do not have a fixed tag
– Do the steam trap survey & input in the data into a survey form
– Input in all the surveyed data into a condensate management software
– Present the survey result of the condition of the steam trap (OK or Leak or Blow through or NOT tested)
In the form of:
PDF
Excell
Chart
Etc.
NOTE:
If we can get the data of:
– Steam cost
– Fuel consumption of steam boiler
– Fuel type
– Fuel cost
The steam trap survey report will include emission report as follows:
– Emission losses
– CO2 losses
– NOx losses
– SOx losses
