Armstrong BVSW Drain Traps
Especially built, if OIL is present with condensate
This type of drain trap is built specially to drain condensate from a piston type air compressor.
If the oil seal ring of the air compressor’s piston is already weak, lubrication oil can leak out and contaminate the condensate.
The combination of condensate, small solid and oil creates solids that can plug the orifice of the drain trap.
The construction of model BVSW drain trap is the same as the construction of an inverted bucket steam trap construction except, it is equipped with a scrub wire that is inserted into the small hole located at the top part of the inverted bucket to ensure the oil inside the inverted bucket can always flow out of the inverted bucket and be drained out through this hole when the orifice of the drainer is open (because oil is lighter than water/condensate).
NOTE:
To make sure the liquid drainer is working properly
We have to prime the liquid drainer before start-up
(fill the liquid drainer fully with water)
